Roland Jupiter 4

I'm looking into buying a Roland Jupiter 4 within the next couple of months, and was wondering if someone could suggest the kind of price I'd be looking at for one in good condition?

I've lost touch with the market for a few months

Jupiter 4s seems especially hard to price. They veer in and out of fashion, and their prices are all over the board. I've seen them offered for everything between about $1600 and about $3000. In general, for a good unit, I think you should be looking in the $1900-2300 range.

Modeless Factory -- very respected and trusted internet seller in Japan (lots of internet testimonials) -- has a nice looking Jupiter 4 for $1999 (price includes delivery). That's where I'd start:

$1500 is a fair price. I think its sound is pure kick-a*s though.

I think you would be lucky to find one for that much these days!

I'm still kicking myself for not getting one from Modeless for $1k shipped a couple years ago.

They have doubled in price in 5 years. Got to play on with MIDI earlier this year and the sounds are AWESOME and heavy.

Just for reference, when this thread was started I paid 1500 euros for my JP4. From what I've seen, that much still seems to be the going price in Europe.

Haha I wish I had my own gigs, but we are competing in an international choir competition in Helsinki. Otherwise, there would have been lots of synths and beer!
