is midi a must? personally i think the Juno would be WAAAY more hands on with dedicated sliders rather than one parameter entry at a time.... butttttt, Juno 106 voice chips fail so theres that. definately Juno by miles, try a juno60 less prone to failure....

I have and like both. The Juno is easier to control on the fly, but the voice chips are considered a time bomb and there's only one DCO. The Poly61M has 2 DCOs, an arpeggiator and may cost HALF the price of the 106, but its battery is also considered a time bomb and it severely lacks easy/fast parameters adjustment (forget the live tinkering).
Based solely on the price of purchase and maintenance [if the battery hasn't leaked and damaged the board, its replacement will be a lot cheaper than the 106's 6 chips], I'd say go for the Poly61M. The only way to know which one you should get is to check videos on Youtube. Unless you can actually try them on beforehand, of course.
