Suggestions for a ghettoblaster boombox
So, I am looking for an 80's ghetto blaster boombox to take to the corner and have dudes freestlye over. Not looking to spend a whole lot, would prefer one that can be battery powered, can have a mix plugged in and DOES NOT have detachable speakers. I'd also like to be able to make mixtapes / record beats from an MPC to it. I really know nothing about this. Any suggestions ?

You asking about a specific model?
I'd just go around the second hand shops in your area and see what they have. Not a lot of units had aux inputs, might take a while to find one. Bring some tapes with you to make sure the thing actually works! Don't expect a lot of volume out of older units, though. Compress the s**t out of the music to get the most volume.
Want to record tapes in it? Forget it, just get a used stereo deck for that...it will sound much better!
Since these are ancient technology by now they will be dirt cheap, both the boombox and the tape deck.

I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Thanks man. I know there are some models oout there that still have some creedence which is why I asked. To be honest, I don't know anything about cassettes, how to record them ETC. Will be interesting. I just have this silly dream to spend the summer hanging out on a corner and blasting some beats and getting some dude to freestyle. I been listening to a lot of Beastie Boys...

It won't be as cool, but if you can find a Sony box from the 90s, most of them had MIC line inputs. But plenty of boxes from the 80s also had MIC inputs...check CL if you're still in the states.

Or it's slightly larger big brother, the RC-M90.
Line ins on this make it aces for what you want. Just don't pay *that* price for it.

Yeah man, this is actually the one I wanted, but that price is ridiculous. Didn't you see my FB post about it ?
