What should I buy?

Post by alwaysuptil1 » Fri Dec 12, 2014 10:13 pm

I have just enough money to afford a local sellers Minimoog. I can get that or for the same price, maybe a little less, I can get a Juno 60 & a Moog Sub37. Or a Juno 60 & a DSI Pro 2.

I currently own a lot of old Roland Synths and would like to hear which way I should go to expand. I love the break on the price of the mini, knowing it will only go up higher in price, but the upkeep of the 4 vintage synths I already have is quite costly and I'm liking the idea of having a solid piece of new gear.

Thanks in advance to everyone for your input. And please, let's all be respectful to one another and make sure this doesn't become an ugly conversation about new vs. old, analog vs, digital, etc....

Thanks again!

Get the mini. Here's why. Those other synths are great but you can always buy them. You can and will make and save more money. That deal for the mini probably will be impossible to get in the future. Simple.

Very well stated. You are correct. Apart from the Juno 60, these other two are going to only come down in price.
Thanks for the quick response. You've made up my mind.

Yep def get the Mini.

The Juno's are nice but pretty overrated and despite being way overpriced now they are still widely available. The new moogs are also nice but they won't sound like a mini. Just get the mini. ;)

all of them.

It really is amazing how after you spend all your money, get arrested for drunk indecency, and have to pay bail. You can still make rent.
Conclusion, money is an illusion.
Just buy all of it and then worry about how to plug it in.
