Hi, I recently bought an R3 but had to send it back because it had a problem with popping/crackling. Since then I've been trying to find another, but it's not as easy as I would like since they aren't made anymore and the ones I am seeing are missing pieces/mics/etc.
Anyway, my question is - would I be able to get basically the same thing out of one of the many versions of MicroKorg? There are so many, and I'm far from an expert on synths (mainly a guitar player). Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Re: MicroKorg/XL/Plus/R3
the sound is the same, but the interface is kind of lacking on the MKXL and Plus. The actual MicroKorg has a different sound
Re: MicroKorg/XL/Plus/R3
So the original microkorg sounds more like an r3 or just has its own sound that's different from all the others?

The Microkorg XL, and XL plus, sound like an R3, which also sounds like a RADIAS. The original Microkorg sounds like a MS2000.
(yes, its a bit simplified)

Thanks. I guess I'll keep looking for an R3 for a while. I do like the bigger keys.

I like the LCDs above the knows that show you the function you're adjusting.
