Is there an Ensoniq EPS VST or anything close to it?

For computer based music makers. Discussions about plug-ins and stand alone computer synth gear.

Is there an Ensoniq EPS VST or anything close to it?

I am not a fan of the "drawing the notes" style of writing sequences. I like playing them, quantizing them, and putting them together using the song steps format of the EPS.

Is there is plug in that I can write music with the same way I do on my EPS? Because my actual EPS is pretty much dying. Is there a way to do this with REAPER itself? (So far I have only been able to figure out how to draw the notes. Having a click countdown and then being able to play the notes in loop mode and then quantize them would be extremely helpful)

This is what I want: to be able to plug my midi controller into the computer. Write songs EXACTLY the way I do on the ensoniq. But use other VSTs for the sounds rather than the sounds on the Gotek floppy emulator because I just midi out them to Cubase anyhow for the most part. I literally only have 10 or so sounds for my actual Ensoniq since I lost all my old disks to hurricane katrina

Being able to sample the same way as the EPS would be a plus as well, but I bet there are plenty of plug in samplers that do what the EPS does. (plays the sample back at a different rate depending on where you set it on the keyboard. I/E you sample a car engine turning over it plays faster on the higher keys and slower on the lower keys)

I would love to be able to do this and then send the midi info to REAPER or Cubase like I do with the actual Ensoniq.

RTFM? Reaper has a particularly good one.

It's all here:
https://www.reaper.fm/videos.php
For the specific answer to your question go to MIDI & Virtual Inst > First Synth Part > Sequencer.

The rest you can figure out from there.

It's not exactly the same as an EPS. It's better :) You can use it the same way, as you described. But with a much better UI, and more features if you need them.

Something magical about being confined inside the machine of those old ensoniq workstations. Hopefully, as time goes on, the value of these machines entice someone to recreate them in some form.
