Do any of you use this softsynth? Are any of you using it on Windows 2000? Have you had any problems with it running on Windows 2000? What is your over all opinion of the sounds you can get out of it? What types of sounds do you use it mostly for?
I just got Gforce Minimosta and MTRon a week ago and I'm trying to make up my mind with the Pro 53. I thought the Gforce Oscar was cool also.
NI stated that it only runs on XP but I think It would run fine on 2000. That is why I ask if anyone is using it on a windows 2000 system.

Re: Native Instruments PRO-53?
It sounds so good. A truly high-fidelity sound. There is no other analog poly other than a Matrix 12 or Xpander that has filter fm, and this filter fm sounds GOOD. The filter itself can get kind of annoying, but it does sound good.Pinus wrote:What is your over all opinion of the sounds you can get out of it? What types of sounds do you use it mostly for?
As far as authenticity, I find that Pro 53 is the closest to an actual Prophet 5 of the various emulations (e.g., Pro 53, Prophet V, Pro 12 ASB). I've briefly A-Bed all against my Prophet 10, and the Pro 53 came the nearest, although still not quite as aggressive with respect to the filter as the real deal. Over all, a great soft synth.
The impOSCar is another great soft synth. One of my favourite soft synths, in fact. This is the one that I tend to play more than any other. GForce did an excellent job mimicking the filter, which is what really makes the OSCar. [Yes, I have A-Bed this one too.]
Keeping in mind the caveat that it is ultimately a matter of personal taste, I would choose the impOSCar over the Pro 53, because I think that the other soft synths that you already own (and which I also own and use) cover a lot of the same territory.
Cheers.
