Alright so,
I'll be going to college this fall and I'm trying to trim my gear down a little bit. Firstly, my Yamaha weighted 88-key piano ain't gonna make it. So I've been looking into NI's Elektrik and Akoustik piano. Has anyone had experience with it? From the demos that i listened to on their website, it sounded pretty good, but I'm concerned with how it plays. I'd be able to hook up a sustain pedal to my midi controller, right? As long as it feels decent they both seem like a good deal.

You'll miss the weighted action. It's amazing how a good action brings a sound to life. I finally got myself an Akai MX1000 weighted keyboard, and it's made all my synths sound better because I play better. I thought I'd need to have a synth action keyboard too, but I've completely stopped using that one. It's just much more fun to play a real keyboard- there's more range for loud'n'soft.
But that Kontakt piano is very nice indeed.
