You want either Jack or Soundflower. I've found Soundflower easier to use than Jack, so I use it.

Does anyone know of any good ones for vista.
I have a vista laptop and a xp desktop.I have goldwave and sound forge.
A friend of mine said that he could record sounds from video game emulators to goldwave.I set goldwave to monitor input but i can't get it work on my laptop or desktop.I have been trying to get the sounds device in control panel to use a input other then the mic for recording this is what i am trying to find out on my laptop.
I also want to take sounds from video clips

Yeah, being able to record sound as you're playing it on your computer (I think that's what we're talking about here, right?) is more likely dependent on your soundcard and the way it's configured than it is on what program you're using. Any recording program should work provided your sound card is able to have its 'audio out' routed back to its 'record in'.voltageHead wrote:I must just be my soundcard on my laptop.
I can't get it work with my desktop that has a M-Audio Ozonic.
?
weird.

regarding stabfrenzy's post:
soundflower owns.......a very slick little app. I've not gotten my head around jack either. I remember soundflower coming in handy when trying to patch gleetchlab to ableton.
