I was checking out Audiomulch, which is this program kind of halfway between a complete modular environment like Reaktor and something like Live which is made for live performance. Does anyone here use it?
Version 2 is coming out soon which should be adding new stuff and will run on Macs, which is what got me interested. Also it's gonna be cheaper to buy version 1 then upgrade to 2 when it comes out than to wait for 2.

Re: Audiomulch users?
I remember using it many years ago, at a time it still hadn't reached version 1.0.
It was quite awesome I remember. But now I'm using Reaktor - are there any benefits by using Audiomulch as well?

I'm also curious if audiomulch would really offer me anything I couldn't add to logic via reaktor/bidule.

I must mention another modular prog that I really enjoy; the tracker Jeskola Buzz.
It's capable of the most beautiful sounds and creative patching. It is very unstable, though, so saving every ten seconds is a must
Best of all - it's free.

I use it a lot. I have for a number of years. I think as far as cost goes it's a one time fee, although you could email the creator Ross Bencina and see if there will be an update cost. It was only 89 bucks at the time for the full version so if there is an update fee I am sure it wouldn't be too much.Stab Frenzy wrote:I was checking out Audiomulch, which is this program kind of halfway between a complete modular environment like Reaktor and something like Live which is made for live performance. I really like this software for a number of reasons...mainly because it's an excellent scratch pad, as everything functions off of the mouse right click, and no piano keyboard is required. You can load any random sound files you want into it's loopers and get some very peculiar results that, as dissonant as they may sound at the onset, usually end up radically different than expected(mostly through a little tinkering).
The effects and filter sections are where the program really sets itself apart from other programs. You just can't get the nebuliser, bubble blower...etc in any other program.
When ever I get bored with Reason, or Live, or my hardware I turn to audiomulch because it never fails to inspire me in some way, mainly by causing me to work in a completely different way.
Well, when I had a much beefier computer I could use Audiomulch as a host, I could bring FL studio in as a contraption and then rewire reason into it. So in effect I had Reason inside FL, inside audio mulch. You can even bring Reaktor or any NI product into the mix.But now I'm using Reaktor - are there any benefits by using Audiomulch as well?
AM can basically function as a master controller for all of the programs we typically might use and it can be a useful tool for composition unto itself.
A few years ago I submitted a review of AM for VSE to add but it never ended up appearing ultimately....
Anyway...I hope that helps. I dig it....and trying it is free.

Re: Audiomulch users?
Pricing update....apparently it will cost me 89 to upgrade. I don't mind though, this program is being made by a dude like you or I.
After three years of intensive research and development, AudioMulch 2.0 will be released in the first quarter of 2009.
For those with concerns about pricing, it will be better value to buy AudioMulch 1.0 now and upgrade upon release of version 2.0. The full price for version 2.0 will be $189 (USD) — the upgrade fee for licenced users of version 1.0 will be $89. A pre-purchase upgrade to version 2.0 is currently available to volume education customers at a significant discount.
Version 2.0 licences will be portable accross Windows and Macintosh. More information about version 2.0 will be made available in the coming months.
