Reaktor books?
Anyone know anywhere online where I can find a good book on how to learn to use Reaktor? Id prefer to buy a book as opposed to online tutorials. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Reaktor books?
The ones that come with it are pretty great IMHO.
The phone book sized one you can leave for later but the medium sized one goes step-by-step into programming, first basic then more complex as it goes on...
Run through those tutorials, man!

Buy the program, you'll get loads of manuals with it. Instead of ripping it down from a bit torrent website and get nothing.

If you have not already done this, you might want to play around with modifying existing ensembles. Just click around and see how they are constructed, and add things to them to your taste.
I still don't fully understand how to build a synth module in Reaktor, but if you just check out how others are built you can learn.
Like the other guys said, there are some decent tutorials in the books that come with the software, that the will teach you the absolute basics.

Re: Reaktor books?
The books that come with it are adequate, but I found them a little terse. As others have said, the best way to learn is just to jump in and start tinkering (whilst liberally referencing other people's work). It's actually a pretty straightforward process once you get into the swing of things, and of course Reaktor ships with a couple of fairly comprehensive sets of pre-made 'modules' (so to speak) such as filters, oscillators, effects, envelopes, and whatnot which are designed to be patched together with a minimum of fuss.
For example, you could make a simple subtractive synthesizer by taking one of the included oscillator macros, connecting it to a filter macro and multiplying the filter's output by the output of an envelope of some description. Then just patch the multiplier to the audio output, a midi note object to all the pitch input, and a gate object to the envelope, and you should be set.

"Sure that's fine in practice, but what about in theory?"

Re: Reaktor books?
I just got komplete 5. The manuals that are included are good. I do have some reading as I will be getting a lot more involved in Reaktor.
Check out BaF at The official Batteries aren't Food site.
