I was just checking out the audio demos of this - it sounds pretty unique, and has a LOT of presets:

They claim there are 4294967296 presets. I just installed it on my system, and it seems pretty good so far.

Yeah, I'll second the feelings. It's got a lot of cool metallic sounding patches. Doesn't seem like you can change anything though. One of the patches gave me inspiration for a new song, so that's always a good thing.

It sounds neat. However, I don't like the fact that switching from one preset to another makes Live stutter - including all other tracks - while the CPU doesn't seem to jump over 6% or so (Q6600 here).
2 to the power of 32 is 4 billion, so don't read too much into it. By that logic, dividing every slider of a Juno-60 into 10 settings and calculating the number of (useful) sounds in there makes you end up with 10 ^ 16 (not counting VCA level) x 2 x 2 x 3 x 4 (sub osc volume 0 = equal to sub osc off) = 480000000000000000 "presets".

Let's calculate how many sounds an FS1r can produce ^^
Is that plugin some sorta presets-only pack of Ogun sounds(or any other synth of theirs)? It's basically a good idea, I wish something like that for FM8 would be made, where end-users can 'compile' a presets-only VSTi from a buncha FM8 sounds, encrypted et all.

Those are Kore Soundpacks, but I don't think they give away the authoring tools for 'm. They might be inclined to check out your presets and sell 'm, giving you a cut?
(also, have you tried that Hypra-ROM pack I've told you about already?

Yes tried it (but have been in a bit of a rush lately, due study).. they remind me of that list o' 1400some in my FS1r, are they the same?
As for preset packs: the trouble here is that loose packs are completely unprotected. Some bozo could just grab all the ideas and tricks and make a new lib of roughly the same stuff and sell it again. A package VSTi like Autogun is exactly what could solve all that. Just a preset browser, maybe one or two knobs for minor tweaks (such as reverb balance) and that's it. People in the 80's used DX7 presets all the way..
