Applied Acoustic Systems VA-1 going cheap

Post by braincandy » Thu Oct 15, 2009 5:16 pm

I just got an e-mail notice from audiomidi.com about this softsynth and they're selling it for $15. Weird price, but I'm guessing it's cheap because it's download-only and because it came out a while back. Maybe it's about to be replaced. Any opinions?

It sounds great, and is really a super deal. I doubt if it'll be developed too much more, if at all, but take it for what it is now.

Uh $15 sounds better than $229. Any reason why that audiomidi link doesn't work anymore?

Go to the website itself, you'll see "The No-Brainer Deal Returns!" in the center in the top of the site. Click that, problem solved.

I just bought it and everyone aware of this bargain should get it immediately. $15!?! So worth it. It sounds pretty unique and it's dead easy to use. I had a hard time navigating the NI synths in he beginning and I'm already getting some good sounds out of it...
I have found that when it comes to gear, believe the hype.

Thanks for the tip on this one. Well worth the price of entrance. I had tried the Ultra Analogue out a while ago before I got my new computer. I was bent on getting an analogue modeling synth plugin and had my range narrowed down to this, the V Station, and a synth from Cakewalk. In the end I liked the UA's sound best but found it too CPU hungry (I was using a 7 year old laptop at the time). I settled on the V Station because it was quite efficient and sounded pretty good, it just didn't hit me like the UA did. Anyway, long story even longer, I picked up the UA on this deal now that I have a new computer and I really dig its sound, simplicity, and flexibility.
Trust me, ma'am. I'm a cryptozoologist.

Bought. More developers should do this. Software only has a certain shelf life, everyone wants the new thing, so why not blow it out after awhile?
