impOSCar....
In terms of sound....this is the benchmark all other softies need to try and reach.
I'm suprised at how warm, full and musical it sounds - and the price is just amazing. Coming from a strictly hardware background....thats saying something.
What does everyone else think?

I didn't like the interface I couldn't program it easily, but yes, the sound is incredible!
I used it in a track I did some years ago, you can listen here: http://www.electrobel.be/muzik/19399/Modulator_wheel

There's going to be an impOSCar 2, just so you know.

It's a shame G-Force wasn't able to make their Obie softie happen. I'm looking forward to upgrading the next version of impOSCar, though.

I think arturia's jupiter 8v sounds amazing. especially version 2.0 which is in beta testing at the moment to registered users...other than that I agree about the imposcar, there are some great sounding synths in reaktor , there are a few free vst's out there that sound really good to me namely atlantis and iblit off the top of my head.
been hearing about imposcar 2 for a long time now - like a year or two.....Im starting to wonder if its ever going to come out.

I prefer the Sonic Projects OP-X Pro
Its a matter of taste tho. I think imposcar is average.
The Virus TI is the best all round softsynth really. Of course that is debatable whether it is a 'softsynth'...

It's funny but when I saw the title of this thread my first thought was that you were going to say the ImpOSCar
It's always been my favourite soft synth. As well as sounding really good it's great to work with. I've got several banks up on the GMedia website & I've been working on some patches for the upcoming ImpOSCar 2. It's fu****g spot on
The new features are fantastic & very worthwhile. It's basically ImpOSCar with extra bells & whistles. The Unison mode is going to blow people away I think & the modulation is now very extensive. It will be worth the wait

I love Gforce's stuff, everything from Mtron to Minimonsta, which is by far the best moog softsynth available. I haven't used imposcar bet, but i'm sure its as good as their other products.

ImpOscar is good. REAKTOR though... unbeatable.

I also think that GMedia produce nice sounding softsynths. Oddity is also impressive; it really helps to fully appreciate the sound of the Arp Oddysey.
I came to the conclusion that for softsynth; simple is better. I still prefer using my Z1 over Reaktor.

I absolutely love the u-he stuff - by far the best softsynths I've ever used. ACE is excellent and Zebra was the first vst I actually had gear lust for.
