Drum vst recommendations?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good vst plugins for drum samples or sounds. I'm looking for hip hop and electronica. I've tried addictive drums and really like it, but aside from realistic drums I'd like to find sounds that are more professional sounding hip hop or electronic beats. Thank you very much to anyone who can help!

I use Sonic Charge MicroTonic (uTonic) on a lot of my tracks. This is a drum synth, so no samples. It'll do a lot of really cool stuff that you can tweak to fit the track you're working on. Also check out the Patternarium on the sonic charge website. Magnus just released version 3.0 of uTonic:

Waldorf Attack is pretty old, but still quite powerful...

Another + for D16 as far as oldschool emulations

Or Arturia's new one... but it currently comes with the hardware controller and thus aint cheap.

I have been using a combination of EZDrummer with the Electronic add-on and Reason's Kong and Redrum. You can generally get EZDrummer and the add-on for cheap at Guitar Center when they are on sale (that's what I did). I like the EZDrummer stuff because it comes with MIDI loops, so you can use them as a basis for tracks. The downside is that you can't edit the actual sounds.

Reason's Kong, on the other hand, is heaven if you want to tweak sounds.

Battery is the the only drum vst I use, komplete being the best way of purchasing IMO. It's very simple to use and delivers lots of options in the way of filters, fx, looping and even rolls and patterns. I've heard good things about ezdrummer. Kickmaker is pretty cool too.

If you have Kontakt 3.5 or higher, HSDV from Hollowsun may be worth looking at.

It's not a sample library in the conventional sense (there are very few presets), it's actually a drum synthesiser based on the Simmons SDSV that you can use to create your own drum sounds.

FXpansion Geist is a neat little standalone / VST plugin sampler / sequencer I've been playing around with - you should try it out they have a demo up on the expansion site.

Another +1 for Attack. Love it.
It's like having a Korg ER-1, but in software form, but it's a lot more powerful.

I also use Battery quite a bit. Super easy to use and it's got tons of ways to tweak your samples.
