IK has announced a free version of Amplitude 3 called Custom Shop. It's a fully functional version with 9 stomps, 4 amps, 5 cabs, 3 mics, 2 rack effects and tuner. More can be added as expansion packs (hmm, sound familiar?).

For cheaters out there, you can open any of the expansion packs and use for two days free...but get this...and after two days you can get another two days free two months later

I like this idea, I only use high gain amp models in these anyway.
