Oberheim SEM.....why not but OPx-pro has already covered the oberheim field ( may be not the matrix 12) as far as I am concerned.
I would have preferred a roland d50 emulation, especially since Roland is a good friend of Arturia and could give them the right to use the d50's samples.
I am abit disappointed.

Re: Oberheim sem v
Because Arturia's software is for emulating vintage analogues not vintage digitals? If anyone was going to do a D-50 emu it would be Cakewalk since, you know, Roland owns em...

I can't say I am the biggest fan of this Co. - I do not care for the JP8 much or the Mini Emu they did either , but I do love the Moog Modular they did a lot and it sounds very moog(ish) to me so I will go into it with eyes open . I am surprised they didn't go with the Matrix12 though as they were talking about doing it some years back ?

I thought the sample sounds were nice. I'll have to muck with it when it's available.
There's another one out now, too: http://music.service-1.de/html/sam_synth_plugin.html It's cheaper, but Windows only.

Re: Oberheim sem v
Arturia's interesting since some of the VSTi do a pretty good job while others don't. I used the Minimoog V and a real one back to back and most of the nuances were there, enough to negate buying the real one (big budget and desire notwithstanding). On the other hand I didn't think that the 2600 V really pulled it off. I agree about the Jupiter as well. Both were missing the big sound they're supposed to have.
An SEM should be really cool if they pull this off. Let's hope it sounds as good as it looks.
