iPhone analog style sequencer/synth?
I am looking for something basic and quick to use for composing sequences on my iPhone. I want something with a similar feel and functionality as the Korg Monotribe.
What I mean by that is a very simple sequencer and one or two oscillator design for combing up with sketches. I can't seem to find anything simple enough, none of the analog style synths I find have a sequencer, and little midi machine looks like a perfect sequencer - but no synth.
Any suggestions?

Re: iPhone analog style sequencer/synth?
you lost me a bit (sounds like classic overthinking) but I'll take a stab:
what's wrong with garage band? imaschine? synthstation? is there a 303 emulation for iphone (I know rd3 works for android)?
all else fails - ipad. love mine. edit: I failed to supply the information that there's a great knob per step analog style midi sequencer for ipad. I'm not at home and the name escapes me.

Re: iPhone analog style sequencer/synth?
Yeah sorry if that was unclear, I was spewing it out on the phone while searching. What I mean is just....a simple synth with an elegant interface and a step sequencer. Seems like there should be one with a really good well made interface by now, I just haven't found it, everything is overcrowded and overcomplicated.
Although wow, I was unaware of iMaschine...that may very well be the answer to my question.
Thanks dawg.

I actually think the vast majority of step sequencing may stink horrendously on iphone. I find that when I try to use my android for anything of complexity, its a study in futility. yet - imaschine plays really nicely on a small screen.
Ipad really is the bomb for tinkering with music stuff. Ipad makes jasuto worth a darn. I hope more ipad users get on to jasuto as I think it flies under the radar since it was an early comer and had a near impossible GUI when on a phone. On ipad it works very nicely and you can do some pretty serious stuff with it.

just hit the store and search for 303. rhythm studio for five bucks, 303 / 808 / 909 etc emulator, sends & receives midi.

I would recommend TechnoStation 2 instead, much better interface.Infinity Curve wrote:What about rebirth?

Hugo, did you mean technoBox 2? I couldn't find anything searching techno station.

Magellan would've been cool, but just realized you're talking about the iPhone, not the iPad...

Yeah Jasuto is really excellent, even though I was using it on a 3rd Gen iPod Touch. And I say 'was' because it's been months since iTunes has deigned to recognise the iPod's existence. But that's another story.samuraipizzacat29 wrote:I actually think the vast majority of step sequencing may stink horrendously on iphone. Did he ever get any further with documentation though? Actually from the forum it looks pretty much abandoned at this point.

Re: iPhone analog style sequencer/synth?
I think jasuto on a phone killed jasuto because it was a horrendous pain to try and manage on a phone (imo). but now after having revisited it on an ipad and being able to really grasp everything that's going on, it could be a monster of a program if we lead a revolution to further extend its capabilities!
Re: iPhone analog style sequencer/synth?
Rebirth is kind of buggy on the iPhone but somehow not on the iPad.
Rhythm Studio is a lot of fun and it has several synths.
