Anyone tried sending CC's with Ableton?

I can't figure this out. I have a Meeblip micro that I built that requires a software VST to edit all 16 parameters. The vst I made can send CC's with each knob on the interface. The vst works flawlessly in Reaper. All I do is set the receive channel, and voila...I am instantly able to change any of the parameters (cutoff, res, etc.) via CC.

Then I try it in Ableton live, same exact I/O setup...and all the vst does is stop the Meeblip from receiving midi. Has anyone tried to send CC's to an external synth in Ableton?

You might get some strange results if both ableton and the VST are trying to send the same Control Change.
If you use CC's in the clip envelopes in Ableton, without the VST, does it respond happily?

Just make a new midi clip in live, and send cc's via. editing the envelope within the clip. I have done that with my Jomox Xbase 888, and it works perfect. Only problem is the latency, but that's allways a problem.

Cool, I'll give that a shot. However, I'm not trying to tweak the patch over time. I'm trying to make a patch on the Meeblip with the software. It might be a lost cause, unless I can somehow run reaper simultaneously with Ableton.

The VST cannot work stand alone, right? That would solve the problem...

I remember reading somewhere that somebody made a MAX patch for Live to be able to send out CCs with the VST...

Thanks for the tip Pflosi. I had thought about that, but I think I would run into problems with Ableton using the Midi ports and the standalone not being able to use them simultaneously. Maybe there is a work around. I need to invest in MAX, haha.
