New NI Synth
"One synth to rule them all".
Anybody heard anything else or have any speculation as to what this might be? I can't find anything else about it on the internet, I guess NI is keeping it under wraps. I'm pretty excited, they haven't put out a new standalone softsynth in awhile, and I'm interested to see what direction they'll go in.

Re: New NI Synth
Not sure if that tag-line is really serious or just a regular reference that's a boast.
They show tons of knobbage, so my first impression is that it was an NI Maschine for synths.
More or less a controller with one new synth added. Or some mondo synth that combines the engines like KORE.
Although Massive is a classic (in the making), I don't see the reason for this level of interest, or the expectations that we should care 9any more than normal). They basically have been making something, sending out an email blast and releasing it at the same time.
So I can't imagine this is just one more NI Synth.
I'm hoping for a hardware connection.
Or at least a new technology being employed. And I do mean a new technology, not another name for VA Modeling.
I would still buy a hardware version of Absynth.
Go straight digital with (sampled + modeled) waveforms and an analog filter, a huge screen and lots of hands on controls.
So I'm excited, but if it's just one more Reaktor ensemble....

Re: New NI Synth
That is the impression I got from the video as well. When checking out the Soundcloud set, I noticed the blurp: "A collection of demos from Native Instruments' forthcoming software synth."Stab Frenzy wrote:It's hardware.
Maybe something Maschine-like..?

Re: New NI Synth
A hardware synth from NI would be incredible. I hadn't even considered that, perhaps I've posted this in the wrong section.
At any rate, I agree that some new synthesis technology is going to be introduced in this release. NI has never really been much of a company to repackage old features and sounds. I'm really interested to see what this is going to be.

Re: New NI Synth
I think Arturia has shaken us all up a little too much.
I expect a hardware controller for their line of softsynths + one new offering to launch the controller.
KORE was a recent product that was cool and I think this will be an extension of that direction.
I was asking for a Maschine like solution for a workstation using Komplete as the engine, but this may the same thing, but for synthesizers. An interesting move for sure.

Re: New NI Synth
I've heard the name "Monark" being thrown around the web. Seems like the general consensus is that this is going to be a modular softsynth with a hardware component. Should be interesting.

Re: New NI Synth
Looks like it is indeed Monark, a monosynth for Reaktor. I'll have to wait until I try it out, but I was hoping for something a bit more groundbreaking, rather than an addition to Reaktor.

Re: New NI Synth
Demo's on NI's webpage make it sound like boring trash as usual but you shouldn't expect anything less from NI demo's for synths.
The massive demos make it sound boring too but we all know that's not the case.

Scratches me head'-
Wait, what's the video with all the knobs about then?!
Usually reactor products show reaktor bits for graphics, don't they?
No, this must be something else.
I don't why reacktor would get a hardware extension....
And I figure its cant be too crazy since komplete 9 was announced with no hardware counterpart

Re: New NI Synth
That really, really, really is disappointing.
I mean, I don't want to be that jaded NI user who no longer responds to their hype.
Usually, it's justified. I like the count-down phase too.
They have a new one that is saying something like "Supercharge your drums!"
And everyone is saying it's Battery 4 or FINALLY a connection between Maschine and Batteries' library.
I will be disappointing again if it's nothing more than ANOTHER EXPANSION PACKAGE.
