Yamaha TNR-i 1.5 problem

Hi,

this morning I've received anouncement: Yamaha TNR-I version 1.5 (Tenori-On Ipad version ) has just arrived, and now it has Audiobus support. Great news and good reason to put my hands on it, but I was shocked with the other news- it is avaliable only in US and Japanese apple store, so synthesizer lovers from Europe (or Brasil, or any other country ) can not buy and use it. And there's no other way to get around it than to get a credit card from US bank.

Well, ok, I guess people at Yamaha have some reasons for that, but what if I still want it? The question is: can some of my US-resident friends buy it for me? If so, what is the way to do it right (just send app file, or buy the app for me as a gift, or another way?) ?

Very frustrated about it, but want to find the solution...

I remember when version 1.0 was announced, this restriction was in effect. Later, though, it was made available in Europe as well. But now I''m puzzled: earlier today, the update was downloadable in the app store, but tonight it was gone (so were the updates for Synth & Drum arp and one other Yamaha app I have). What's the deal, Yamaha, do I have to wait six months before I'm allowed to upgrade? Wouldn't surprise me one bit...

I know you can buy a song on iTunes and gift it to someone.

Will they let you do that with apps?

US applestore gift cards will work, but you will likely need to setup a separate US account (or switch the existing one to US, then leave it for further experiments, as you'll probably be left with like 1 cent on your account, which cannot be spent and prevents you from switching country).
