Just to bring this to people's attention: There are apparently people out there who find it acceptable to re-make an open-source design and sell it for twice the original price.

I think these people violate everything this project stands for, and should be ashamed of themselves. I hope you fine folks always find someone who has the skills to rebuild our design and the heart to sell it at a reasonable price, as a friendly community ought to.

EDIT: Part of that was apparently a misunderstanding and these people are just trying to recoup their losses from a first batch that didn't go well. Given how this project started as an attempt to fix the completely bollocks prices in the vintage synth market I still don't think people should have to pay more than 100$ for these cards though.

Linking to a good seller/builder could be very helpful to folks looking to purchase...

We're not aware of anyone producting and selling our cards at a decent price at this point in time - however quite a few people have already built their own cards based on our open-source design.

Some new findings regarding the Kawai/Ensoniq cards...
https://reverb.com/item/46402486-kawai- ... jisoku-ram

"Fujisoku was the OEM supplier of the cards used by Kawai and Ensoniq, so other than the generic Fujisoku graphics, this card is basically identical "

So these cards have been used in various other equipment as well.

Apparently these cards were sold in various configurations, all with the same 38-pin connector.
https://datasheet.datasheetarchive.com/ ... 390713.pdf
I think I will see if those cards can be obtained cheaper than the Kawai-branded ones, which would make it a bit more justifiable for me to actually take one apart.

This site also explicitly lists Ensoniq SQ synths as compatible devices for these cards: https://www.tecsys.de/en/products/stora ... oku-38-pin

Essentially, we need the counterpart to this piece: https://syntaur.com/Items.php?Item=9729

Edit: Obtained an BS64D1-B card and it works as expected. I'll try to get another card for a low price, and I may use that one to obtain parts for the connector, if nothing else.

Success. If you don't mind an ugly Telekom logo sticking out of your synth...

I have a hunch that at least in the German market, these Telekom Connex cards will turn up for much cheaper than Kawai-branded cards. I got two of those for 30€ in total.
