Hello,
I am offering a DAC replacement service for the Supernova II series.
A faulty DAC will cause noise / static / silence on the Headphones and Main Outputs 1 + 2.
The owner will need to remove the main PCB from the unit.
I have made a PDF instruction for the Keyboard and Rack version:
https://app.box.com/s/8wo0okdewt4jmsh0zk6gebzu8noyoorf
I am based in the UK. Due to the small weight of the main PCB I can offer this to international customers.
For more details about this service please see my Supernova Repair page at:

Many Thanks,
Brian

Re: Novation Supernova II DAC Repair
Just a note to say this repair service is still available. Over 30 units have been successfully repaired, including additional work to units that have had a previous unfortunate attempted "repair".
Also, the SIIEX24 24 Voice Expansion Card is still available:

Re: Novation Supernova II DAC Repair
I've added a few more repair services for the Supernova II:
Encoders:
A common fault with the Supernova is that the encoders wear out. These are used for the two Data Selection knobs and the Tuning knob. When these malfunctiion the data values on the screen will jump or lag.
DSP Fault:
With a DSP fault the Effects Special LED (keyboard) or Comb Filter LED (Rack) will flash and several of the Part LEDs will be lit. The display will be blank and the unit will not generate any sounds.
FLASH Write Error Fault:
With this fault the Supernova II will display "Flash Write Error !! Switch off & re-try".
Supernova II hangs when Booting:
With this fault the Supernova II will light all the LEDs on the panel and the display will be blank.
For more details about this services please see my Supernova II Repair page at:

....
I saw you use cs4391a-kzz chip in your website.. It's different than original. Is it works flawless?
I read chip manual:
CS4391A only support 5volt
CS4391 support 5volt and 3volt.
Re: Novation Supernova II DAC Repair
Yes it works flawlessly. At least in mine it does.
Re: Novation Supernova II DAC Repair
Thanks, I bought cs3491a (only 5 volt version) and I use flawless too.

Re: Novation Supernova II DAC Repair
Hi there,
do you offer a dsp fix for the Novation Nova desktop ?
After a bit of research I think this is the problem.
It turns on with just the O/S on screen and 1-3 part lights lit solid and dist/eq button flashing.
Regards, Andy
