I can't recommend this guy enough! he is awesome, if you arrange it with him, he'll fix your stuff while you wait and sort of give you an step by step of what he's doing. He worked on my TR808, Korg Polysix, Yamaha CS15, TR727 and has told me about working on numerous Gleemans and number of electro-acoustic instruments as well. Also he was Santana's keyboard tech in the 80s, so he's got some highly amusing stories.. again, I cant recommend this guy enough, best synth tech in the bay area and definitely worth the trip up to beautiful sonoma county!

This is a one man operation run by a super nice and knowledgeable guy. He's done work on my sequental TOM, tb-303, and ms-20. I've been completely satisfied with all the work he's done and his rates are very reasonable. He's completely up front with you, and if he feels like your repair needs are beyond his abilities he will let you know. When I had him repair my ms-20 the synth was a little out of his comfort zone so he brought in an outside tech who assists him occasionally on vintage synths. They were able to work out the kinks and he got my synth back to a fully functional state. On a side note, he's the tech that trading musician (a local music store) sends their synths to for their repair needs.

I've rambled enough, but if you're looking for a synth tech in the pacific northwest I highly recommend this guy.

When I called Analogue Haven looking for a tech they recommended him. Unless his prices changed $150 for cleaning and calibration. His hourly rate is probably the best I've seen, everyone else charges like 80-90 an hour. Maybe you already found someone since you posted in sept.

I sent my prophet 5 to him for repair and it was probably cheaper with shipping than it would have cost me if I could have found someone local to repair. He was also amazingly quick. I think his turn-around time for replacing a voice, doing some re-capping, thorough cleaning and adding the tape mod, was less than a week. He is located in Oakland, California...

If you are looking for someone in Utah that can work on vintage synths you can go to Music Village in Ogden. I will warn you that it will be in the shop for a while but he was able to repair my SH-3, did a good job and wasn't too expensive.
