ARP 2600 notes stuck on
I have an ARP 2600 with a Model 3604-P keyboard, and when I play notes they won't turn off. I've tried everything on the front panel, but nothing has worked. Something is keeping the Gate open. Anyone seen this before or have any ideas?

You've got the Initial Gain set to "0", right?

Yes, and it doesn't seem to affect the sound at all, at any setting.Z wrote:You've got the Initial Gain set to "0", right?

Actually, the initial gain is having an effect after raising the sliders underneath it. I took the keyboard apart today and found nothing noticeable, except a broken J-wire that shouldn't be causing the problem.

I don't have a keyboard for my 2600 and trigger it from a Roland SH-5.
Does the 2600 make sound when the keyboard is unplugged?

Yes, when I disconnect the cable, the 2600 drops down to a lower note that remains on indefinitely. DC voltage coming from the 2600's gate out goes from 10V (note on) to 0V (note off), so it appears the keyboard is doing what it is supposed to do. I'm beginning to think it is an issue within the 2600 itself.Z wrote:I don't have a keyboard for my 2600 and trigger it from a Roland SH-5.

Never mind - I figured it out. I've realized that turning VCF down and VCA up in the mixer section solves the problem. Thanks.
