sending wavs to a peavey dpm sp rack?

Post by mama. » Thu Jul 12, 2012 7:31 am

Does anyone have any tips? I have a abunch of sample conversion software, none of them can change wav into a peavey format. I have an scsi drive and I understand how to set that up correctl. ...I know there is an upgrade eprom chip I can buy which will allow me to use the sample format for akai S1000, but even that seems to be a bit of trouble.

I did some work with one of those back in the day, but I can't remember how we got the samples in there. Maybe this will help:

Doesn't the DPM SP read Akai formats?
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Ha! I got it, Im using the MIDI sample dump from an akai mpc2000. This takes forever to transfer, but once its sent it can be easily stored by the peavey on whatever attached scsi drive.

it seems yes, I was worried that this would require the EPROM upgrade, which allows you to even use s1000 program data, makes me wonder if the peavey can recognize akai format\ted disks that might be a faster way to drop wavs into the machine

Just got one of these yesterday, so I am wondering, what kind of .wav files can you import into it?
And what's the easiest way to send those files from your computer into the Peavey SP?

Also, I got it together with an Peavey SXII, but noticed the power supply seems to be the wrong spec, 18VAC rather than 16/16.5VAC mentioned on the back of the Peavey SXII...
Does anyone here knows if this device is actually pretty tolerant with voltages and can handle the power supply I got?
I think the person I got it from tested it before we got the deal, but don't want it to cause some damage long term...
