Yamaha A-4000 noob

Post by sas » Sun Apr 29, 2007 12:41 am

Long time tinkerer with synths for over ten years, I finally decided to get me a sampler. I just picked up this unit, read the manuel, and can't seem to work out one simple yet essential function--saving my samples to hard disk.

I'm in Save Mode and I'm using the first assignable nob on the left to trigger the "EXEC" alert on the bottom left corner, last row of the screen, which, according to the manuel, should prompt the empty data field to the right to display the sample as "saved," but I'm not even getting this "EXEC" message to begin with. Am I missing a step? Thanks for any help.

Does yours actually have an internal hard drive? Or are you connected to an external SCSI drive?

Good point, I didn't realize the drives were optional. I'll open it up and have a look. Thanks.
