Changing Disk Drive on Akai S1000

Post by mr_m0nks » Thu Jul 05, 2007 12:59 am

the drive in my S1000 stopped being able to write any information onto disks so i decided to replace it, i have replaced it with a standard pc floppy drive but this doesnt seem to work, when the s1000 tries to access the disk i can hear the drive spinning but the light doesnt illuminate and the message "no disk" appears on the screen

is it just a dodgy drive i have managed to get or something else?

i miss my s1000

Akai did not use a PC floppy they used an Amiga floppy drive.
