Post by sineSurfer » Wed Aug 22, 2007 5:12 am

Hi, anyone knows if there are default sound samples available from the MachineDrum?

Thanks!

Well, there is no such thing as default drums on a MD. However, there is a sample disc called M-Audio Pro Sessions Vol. 15 - Elektron:Machinedrum out there, but it is no substitute for the real deal. I hated the disc, but love the MD.

Just want to try some samples on my ESX1 to get a glimpse of how the MD would sound along with my style of music.

Yeah, I can imagine that :D

Thanks for the lead on the Pro Sessions!

samples are still samples, no tweaking the sounds like on a real md..
plus, the sounds aren't the main thing (like the tb-303)
the sequencer is, with all the parameter locks and what not.

I don't know... the sequencer is not the main thing for me... it is 50% of it...but I actually like the way the MD sounds, I like the way the reverbs and delays sound, I like the dirt you can add to the samples in the UW model...the MD and MDUW's sound is very underrated since everyone wants the same old TR-909 analog sound. Thank god I don't make dance music.

For me is the combination of both, the kind of sounds you can make and how easy is to work with, any words on this?(I'm trying to go into hardware setup for sounds, patterns and loops + laptop to trigger everything).

At the end i'm not rich, or crazy enough to buy the MD just to test it, taking in account the fact that getting one would cost me like twice the price because of shipping, insurance and customs taxes, so samples will do to make up my mind... and If I choose to get one, samples will serve to get thru while I save the cash to get it :D :D :D

and there is another option too: MicroTonic->sampling->ESX1.
The ESX1 does a pretty good job on TR style sequencing already so maybe I'm half way there?

Anyone had compared both the MD and MicroTonic sounds in terms of sound creation/experimentation?
