mpc and asr 10

Post by femmespeaksever » Wed Nov 28, 2007 11:47 pm

Would it be pointless and too excessive to have both a MPC 2000xl, and a ensoniq asr 10? Just wanted your opinions, thanks.

absolutely.

send that asr10 to tallowwaters care of...

(of course not, you can make your own transwaves on the asr10.)
Brains can be used like a "stress ball," but only once.

they have quite different 'bounces' to them

besides the fact that samples will sound different in the 2 machines

So it would be an ideal setup to have an asr 10 be in charge of just the sampling architecture/synthesis and using the mpc as the main sequencer?

I have an mpc2000xl and an Ensoniq EPS16+ (so not exactly the same but along the same lines) and I find good uses for both, in fact completely different uses -- beats and bass and midi sequencing from the mpc and sample f**k from the Ensoniq...

I recently sampled a several drum kits off of my Asr 10 into the Mpc 2500. They sound incredible. The Mpc sequencer is#1 and it's just so fun to put things together with this machine. I find it alot better for building tracks with my analog gear, than when I just used my Motif and Cubase. The Asr has some great effects. I love to run other things through it for unique results.
