Hello everyone,

I have an akai s900 and I just recently bought the m audio uno(a midi interface). I connect the uno to the s900 then to to my mac, but the uno doesn't recognize that I connected the s900. I tryed my m audio uno with my midi controller and it has worked fine, and the midi controller works fine with the s900. Before I go return it thinking it doesn't work with my s900, can someone tell me if theirs someting i can do to get the uno workin with my s900. (I've googled this and google doesn't give me any help)

Thanks

There's no MIDI interface that recognizes any piece of gear that's attached to it. It's not comparable to hooking up a printer/scanner/camera to a computer via USB and needing drivers.

Hook up the Uno's MIDI out to the S900's MIDI in. Hook up the controller's MIDI out to the Uno's MIDI in. Use Logic, Live or any other sequencer on the Mac of your choice, and tell it it should send the incoming MIDI to the MIDI out.

check if the uni has something like the "thru" function, it will allows you to directly controlling the S900 from the keyboard to check if the midi interface is fine.

make sure you got the midi out on your midi controller to the midi in on the uno and the midi out on the uno to the midi in on s900. As long as your computer recognizes the uno your good.

Thanks for the replies,

After checking everything to make sure it was connected right it still didn't work, so I unistalled the driver, restarted the computer, and that seem to make it work. :)
