E-max II SoundMemory Size Error and another problem

Post by }W{ » Wed Oct 22, 2008 11:25 pm

My E-max II rack has started to behave quite weirdly. I went to turn it on today and I get a SoundMemory Size Error and then when i plugged in my SyQuest drive for it I get a loud squealing noise coming from it.

I've tried reseating the memory board but that didn't fix it and I have no idea what could be causing that weird behavior with the SyQuest drive either.

I've never had this error, but when I bought my Emax II it was reading that it only had 3 MB of memory when it had 8. The connection from the memory board can cause problems so maybe check there. You could try to reseat it again and make sure that the connection is nice and firm. I don't see that as causing the error though, I think it would just give you less memory to use.

A better place to ask this question is the emax group on yahoo. I think you are more likely to get a solution if you post over there. Good luck.
