Good Hardware Sampler with Arpeggiator
I'm looking for a good sampler under $1000 with an arpeggiator that will work even if one key is only held down (my Prophet 600 doesn't do this, I need to hold down at least two!) It can be new or old, just no floppies. Rack or keyboard. I've been looking at the Emax or a Korg Electribe but I don't know if the arpeggiator does what I want it to. Thanks guys.

Korg ESX-1.
Emax I and II both rely on floppy/SCSI, but both have ample arps.

Re: Good Hardware Sampler with Arpeggiator
Thanks. I did some more research into the Korg, and it seems like it doesn't do what I want to do. It only has two tracks where I can actually play things out of keyboard while the rest is drums and loops. Is that correct? And the arpeggiator only works with that strange ribbon, slider thing. The Emax/Emulators are alot more versatile (splitting keyboard, processing samples with filters). And some Emaxs have hard drives. I just want to confirm that if I hold down one key on the arpeggiator that it will just arpeggiate that one note. It's a pet peeve of mine. Is there any modern hardware version of the Emax or emulator?

Re: Good Hardware Sampler with Arpeggiator
You can define what the arpeggiator plays on the Emax II through the arpeggiator menu, so you can mos def do what you are asking. Why not look up the manuals for the Emax I/II, ESI, and E4X series?haydenvan wrote:Thanks. I did some more research into the Korg, and it seems like it doesn't do what I want to do. Hate to use this as the answer to so many 'what should I buy' questions, but the V-Synth keyboard ticks all those boxes for you. Has a programmable polyphonic arpeggiator that can latch, uber-sampler, no floppies, under $1000.haydenvan wrote:I'm looking for a good sampler under $1000 with an arpeggiator that will work even if one key is only held down (my Prophet 600 doesn't do this, I need to hold down at least two!)
