Have been looking at this:

Would certainly be cheaper than buying a whole new screen (which seem to run around 70+). Sounds like you only have to desolder and then solder a couple wires, rather than the whole connection assembly. I guess the screen itself could fail eventually too, but does this seem like a worthwhile (and easy) alternative in the meantime?
