ASR-X sequencer
Okay...this is kind of a repost. Anyone with an ASR-X (the black one, not the pro) want to comment on the sequencer? Is it as bad as people say? How does it handle MIDI sequencing?

Re: ASR-X sequencer
I just realized I necrobumped the h**l out of this post but I already wrote so much I'm not deleting it
I love the h**l out of my ASR-Xes. I have a black one and a red one. The timing on the really old OSes, like 1.3 and older IIRC have weird timing bugs. Newer versions fixed that timing bug, and the Pros don't have it at all (by this I mean newer versions of the black box OS have the same good timing as the Pros), but there is definitely a unique sound to the ASR-X's sequencer.
It's not bad, but if you're looking for that traditional MPC accuracy, you might not find it here. The sequencer does tend to have a little bit of effect on your groove IMO in a way other sequencers might not.
Again, it's not bad, I love it, just don't except "perfect" sequencing like you were on a MPC or something.
A lot of people will talk c**p on it because they can't get the sound they want, but I think if you want to own an ASR-X you are probably more interested in experimenting and having fun than getting your predicable perfect timing patterns down? Cause if you wanted that kind of predictable sound you'd get a predictable unit, right?
(All jokes aside, it is a quirky machine, but damned if mine won't make it to the grave with me)
