SH101 HELP! HELP! HELP!

Post by ominus » Wed Oct 25, 2006 2:20 pm

i play recorded sequences into my sh101 via my kenton midi/cv convertor.

but when the patterns are short (played with a tight envelope on the 101) and fast, the 101 transpose function sporadically kicks in of its own accord, and throws the notes up to its upper register. this means low bass lines are jumbled up with high octave beeps, which are simply no use when trying to compose.

opening the release of the ADSR can help remedy the situation, but thats not really any use as it changes the note lengths of the sequence.

ive heard it could be a ground loop in the synth's cv IN cable, or has my transpose function gone wonky?

any advice or suggestions of where to ask very much appreciated! its driving me mad! :(

I have a feeling that your MIDI to CV converter might be recieving MIDI data from the wrong channels. Have you tried filtering out everything else on the MIDI chain the Kenton is on?
