Juno 60 + Kenton Pro DCB problem

Post by HamTyler » Fri Feb 29, 2008 11:39 am

Any help/ideas appriciated. I picked up a Kenton Pro DCB box yesterday to use with my Juno 60. I'm triggering notes from either a controller keyboard, or the pads on my mpc1000, and whenever I trigger more than one note at once, I start getting stuck notes. Using the juno as a controller works fine? The Juno is in mint cosmetic shape, and works perfectly appart from this? Anyone had this problem or know what it might be?

thanks.

Did you get a manual with the Kenton? Double check the settings (not to mention the cables & connections). There's a function to switch between Juno and Jupiter mode - perhaps that's something to do with it. Never had any problems with mine. Also, which model of the DCB box are you using? Could it be an OS issue? Thirdly, do the stuck notes only occur when using the MPC to trigger, or do you also get them when playing the Juno via a controller keyboard? If only the MPC results in stuck notes, the pads may only be sending note on messages and not note off. I am in no way knowledgable about MPCs, but there are drum machines that work that way (perhaps look up trigger modes in the book).

A bit vague, I'm afraid, but those are the things that immediately spring to mind. Hope they're in some way useful.

Actually, now I come to think of it, I did have some issues with some Kenton interface a while back - turned out I was using an under-powered power supply. Make sure your power supply has the correct voltage and can output at least the required mA. Use a regulated adapter only. Unregulated adapters can cause some degree of havoc with music gear.

I think it states in the manual that it happens (as previously mentioned) with the juno/jupiter selector.

Triggering from live 7(on Delta 1010 and Edirol UM-2 interfaces), microkorg, poly800 and Korg ES-1 has been fine.

My problem is that I can't seem to get the LFO to do anything...
(Of course I've not really tried to hard)
