Permission denied

Post by gridsleep » Wed Nov 08, 2023 10:48 am

The whole Encyclopaedia is presenting "Permission denied" on a blank page for any synthesizer that is selected. The Webmaster email address is also rejecting any mail sent to it. This is happening regardless of browser, plugins, or VPN.
I just discovered that the only synthesizer entry in the Encyclopaedia that does appear properly is the 360 Systems MIDIBass, which is the first entry alphabetically. The rest are still Permission denied.

How do you mean, when you come from Google? If one searches for a synthesizer in Google, and selected the link to the VSE, the VSE entry shows properly? By Jove, you are right. I use Duckduckgo not Google, but apparently the problem is in the VSE internal linkage and indexing. That still doesn't solve the problem, though. I assume Ms. Bolton or whoever maintains the site is working on it, but it is taking a long time to fix what is probably a single code error.

The problem appears to be an extraneous bit in the URL:
https://www.vintagesynth.com/index.php/korg/dss1.php
That bit "index.php/" is what is causing the Permission denied. Remove that and the page appears properly:
https://www.vintagesynth.com/korg/dss1.php
Whomever is working on this problem (if anyone) look for whatever is adding "index.php/" to the URL and that will be the culprit.

its doing it again
I click on roland then tb303
and I get a page saying permission denied and this URL
https://www.vintagesynth.com/index.php/roland/303.php
it doesn't work.
But if you remove the index.php after www.vintagesynth.com it does.
Seems like mod.rewrite isn't set up correctly
