80s synth bass

Anyone to tell what synth is in this

That song came out in 2006, not the 80s. The synth bass could be any analog or virtual analog synth with a 24db/oct filter.

would I set the envelope on a filter? to make it sound stabby?

I would say zero attack, sustain and release , short decay and the resonance about half way up or more.

Sorry, I am unfamiliar with software as I only use hardware. As I suggested, an analog or virtual analog synth with 24db/oct. lowpass filter.

2 saw waves, one set at 16', the other at 32'. Filter cutoff set about 25%, resonance around 50%. VCF attack at 0, decay pretty quick, sustain at 0. You might need to experiment with the VCF controls to get just right.

Yes, could be a number of synths... but could easily be replicated on a Roland Juno 1, 60 or 106.
Sounds like a saw wave, with a half amount of sub octave underneath. Filter has slight resonance, medium cutoff and some envelope applied, with a medium decay.
