Yamaha TG-500 sound module: How to control MIDI?

Hi folks,

Recently I got myself an old Yamaha TG-500 sound module. I want to find out how to control certain functions from my Arturia KeyLab controller. First, just basic functions like ADSR for filter and amp. Then stuff like Cutoff and Resonance. More advanced assignments can come later, but first I have to wrap my mind around how this works.
What doesn't work is synchronizing CC numbers on both devices. I've come to understand that one has to establish communication via exchanging MIDI bulk data from one unit to another. This seems to be a rather tedious and elaborate procedure, and I wonder if there are any helpful applications to make things a little easier.

My goal is to use the TG-500 and Keylab controller in Logic Pro X on Macbook. Surely many folks out there have been in a similar situation, and I hope it's relatively easy to figure it out.
