Hi. I've gotten acquainted with a DeepMind 12D and I'm very impressed. The Only real problem i am encountering is after i have finally figured out how to save a sound in user memory, i cannot figure out how to access it.! If I happen to first when i store in user memory i then save in favorites, then i can access the new sound. I cannot find in the manuals any other way of accessing what i store in user memory. Can anyone help me dial them up? I'm thinking this should be simple but is acting complicated i just can't figure it out. I have the desktop DeepMind 12D, no firmware updates anything put in is as new. I would really gratefully appreciate if anyone can tell me how to simply access the 4 banks of user memory. Thank you!

Re: Behringer DeepMind user mem question
It's on page 10 in the manual. Under Program Management (doh)
4.2 Selecting Programs
1. Press the PROG switch to open the PROG menu. This is also the screen which
will be displayed when the DeepMind 12D is turned on.
2. The PROG (Programming) page will be displayed:
The PROG (Programming) page is the main display of the synthesizer.
It shows the current program name, the category name, the currently
adjusted parameter and a visual representation of the parameter plus
the three envelopes.
3. There are three methods of changing the current program:
• Step forwards/backwards through programs using the -/NO and+/YES
switches, or by stepping up and down through the banks using the
BANK/UP and BANK/DOWN switches.
• Using the program browser.
• From an external device using a MIDI program change message.
4.2.1 Using the Navigation Switches
1. Pressing -/NO or +/YES will load the previous/next program in the bank.
2. Pressing BANK/UP or BANK/DOWN will change banks.
4.2.2 Using the Program Browser
1. To access the program browser, press and hold the PROG switch, then move
the rotary knob (or press the GLOBAL switch).
2. The program browser will then appear
3. When in program browser mode, you can use the rotary knob to scroll
through the list of programs. When you stop on a program it will be
automatically loaded.

Re: Behringer DeepMind user mem question
Hey thank you meatballfulton. I keep trying that section 4.2.2 about the file browser. Could my deepmind not be working right or am i missing something. I thought that in addition to preset (rewriteable) memory banks of 128 sounds each bank A thru H i.e. 8 banks of 128. However, when i first got my head into this and again upon the time to revisit deepmind scrolling thru the browser, or with the buttons alone, i can get it to select any sound in bank A thru H. But then, am i wrong here - i thought there is 4 User Memory banks of 128 each blank and writeable in being User 1, User 2, thru User 4. If this is so (which i can store in them and see them mentioned in the bank location in the browser loaded from favorites of the ones i remembered to save there when saving in User memory) So why then, when scrolling sounds it goes from H-128 the next is A-1. I would think if User memory is there it should come next scrolling above H-128. But there is no way to access directly into User memories, that being the way mine is working - it bypasses any way of dialing into the User Memories goes from H to A. Do you have any idea what's up with this? And thank you very much for taking the time.!!

Re: Behringer DeepMind user mem question
Think about it...if all banks A-H can be overwritten, there is no need for separate "user" memory. the manual is clear:
Whatever you were smoking, send me some
It's not like your typical Roland or Yamaha synth with many banks of factory presets that cannot be overwritten and a few banks for user presets.2.15 Program Memory
1024 Programs arranged in 8 Banks of 128 Programs.
Whatever you were smoking, send me some

Re: Behringer DeepMind user mem question
Thanks man. Yeah, I'll get that right in the mail lol. Peace. I'm dumbfounded though: Where does the sound go when it says you are storing in User Memory. I'll have to dig deeper here into the cool DeepMind, this something i just don't understand if it's labelled User Memory right there are only so many memories but it was stored in User -so where did it go - did it overwrite the e.g. F-71 and F-72 so then considered User category keep track of that way. I know I stored a super cool sound i had just made other day and cannot find it anywhere, i don't remember the source sound i tweaked. I stored in User 1-5 or User 2-5 which should have both been empty. If they don't show up that way, then unless you place them same time in favorites there's no way to find them. I just idk about and wish i did... This just doesn't make sense to me. I know what you mean about User memory in older synths. They are unlike my Sledge 2.0 which is like this only so many overwritable memories, and the DeepMind is somehow like that -only contains what then 'categories' of sounds as User?
Re: Behringer DeepMind user mem question
Ok. So the cool sound I found in memory A-5 is a tweaking of Epic Pad KA which is natively G-102. Then when i pressed and held Program and Fx buttons and pressed yes/+ button it scrolled through the User 2 sounds i had saved. I was expecting to find it rewrites A thru D as User 1 thru User 4. So when i saw in A-5 User 2 instead of User 1 I simply said goot me, i can see no rhyme or reason. If anybody else can i'd be thankful if you'd please let me know if you do how this works. How to find what i save a User sound. Peace!

Re: Behringer DeepMind user mem question
Holding PROG and FX puts you into the Favorites menu. That is simply a list of all the favorites.
The numbers there are the locations of the patches in memory. So, in the example image above you could call up "Spin Space" by selecting it here, or using the normal program selection method by going to bank C. Favorites are just pointers to sounds you like to use a lot. They are not separate memory locations.
As far as "where do the sounds go", they go into memory in the location you tell it to use. So you could call up say patch B-31, edit it but save the edit to G-27. Doing that overwrites whatever is already in G-27.

Re: Behringer DeepMind user mem question
Oh, this is too funny! It's just a category tag.
Note the category here is AMBIENT4.3 Program Categories
Each program is assigned to a category from the list of options below:
• NONE - No category information is stored.
• BASS - Used for bass sounds.
• PAD - Used for pad sounds.
• LEAD - Used for lead sounds.
• MONO - Used for monophonic sounds.
• POLY - Used for polyphonic sounds.
• STAB - Used for stab sounds.
• SFX - Used for sound effects.
• ARP - Used for programs with the arpeggiator active.
• SEQ - Used for programs with sequencing.
• PERC - Used for percussion sounds.
• AMBIENT - Used for ambient or texture sounds
.• MODULAR -Used for programs with modular type programming.
• USER-1/4 - Used for user/project specific sounds.
The category is shown in the top left corner of the Prog display. For information on how to assign a category, please consult section 4.9 on writing programs.

Re: Behringer DeepMind user mem question
OK. Got it. I see how to change category and found my missing sounds. I also see how to store them where can be found in a User Category. Thank you very much most sincerely. Peace!

Re: Behringer DeepMind user mem question
I am trying to understand how I might select a preset, or programme from Deepmind 12D using a midi footpedal, for example an FCB0101. The manual does not seem to show the msb/lsb code to put into the FCB0101. Is there another source of this data?
