Yamaha Dx21 Memory problem

Bought a Yamaha dx21 that needed servicing. Half of the keys and control buttons didn't work. I was able to fix that, but there was still a problem with the memory. Every time I turn it off random presets get corrupted. Thought the problem was the battery, but I tried several different ones and it didn't help. Has anyone encountered this problem?

Check if memory is actually powered by the battery. Could be a dead trace in between. Assuming that if synth is switched on, you can read and write memory with no issues.
