Recently I bought an Korg Poly61. For me a nice flashback to the 80s when I spend a lot of time behind my brothers JX-8P and D50!
Anyhow, the Korg needs some TLC. It does produce the default sounds, but the 'parameter' functions doesn't work. When I push the parameter button, the red light doesn't light up and I can't change the parameters itself.
I already checked the circuit board, it's not damaged by a battery leak. I can't find other circuit board trace issues.
I do however noticed that IC37 - a MB3761 Voltage Detector - seems really bad (check photo's) almost like the IC is burned.
My questions are:
- I'm I right that the IC seems to be in a bad shape?
- could this have something to do with the parameter function not working?
- How can I test this IC with the use of a simple fluke multimeter?

Re: Korg Poly61 parameter not working
Pin tarnish is a normal oxidization thing, I'm not seeing warning signs of overheating on those pics.
I would start by confirming the button you press to activate parameter mode shows continuity when pressed (it's normal for two legs sharing a side to be connected always - across the switch is what counts). It is possible that the previous owner was happy with presets and simply never pressed that button. It is possible that the tarnish you have observed elsewhere is therefore gumming up the works.
