Hi, hoping this is the right place for this. I have a roland SH-32, plays great, no complaints. When I first got it, I opened it up to make sure everything inside was good, and lo and behold, I noticed 2 capacitors that are OBVIOUSLY expanding. I know pretty much nothing about electronics, but im pretty sure a bulging capacitor is pretty bad, but also easilly fixed. These caps say "47uf 35v" on them, so I went ahead and ordered some replacements. When they came, they say the right thing on them but are like 4 times bigger than the original ones. Basically I just want to double check that I got the right caps, and make sure this IS just a simple replacement job. Like I said, synth seems to be working just fine to me, isnt heating up or shutting down or anything wierd like that. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
Ive included two pics, one with the two caps circled in red, another of one of the replacement caps.

Re: Roland SH-32 capacitor replacement
The caps you circled are definitely bursting and need to be replaced.
I don't see a value printed on them, but you said 47uf @ 35 volts? The pictured caps are 470uf @ 35volts. The ten times value could explain the four times size..

AH, see, now THATS why I knew posting here first was a good idea. Think THESE will work in place of the wrong ones?

Re: Roland SH-32 capacitor replacement
Yes they will, but that high end version isn't really required and you won't notice any difference if you use ones like the Nichicon ones on your 'BBB...' picture - proper values (i.e. 47 and not 470 µF) provided, of course.
Also it is no problem if you use capacitors with a higher voltage rating such as 50 or 100 V provided they fit in the available space. Do not use ones with lower voltages than specified though.
Generally, electrolytic caps tend to deteriorate after a few decades
Don't forget to TURN ON THE SYNTHESIZER. Often this is the reason why you get no sound out of it. - ARP 2600 manual, 1971
