Alesis DM Pro question

I have an Alesis DM Pro drum module that is on the fritz. At random, the trigger inputs stop responding for about 10-15 seconds. When they come back on, the module has "remembered" all the hits I made while locked up, and plays them all at once. I can still trigger sounds via MIDI while it is locked up without a problem, so it seems to be a malfunction in whatever part of the unit translates the Trigger signals into MIDI.

I tried the 're-initialize' thing at the suggestion of an Alesis rep, but that didn't help.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
