Searching the forums...

okay, this is probably obvious, and as a "Synth Explorer" i should probably know how it's done... but...

when searching the synth forums, and your hit is in a thread with multiple pages, how do you know which page your result is on? is there a way to go directly to the text?

it doesnt seem to tell you what page its on unless there is some secret kung fu method to search that i dont know about. it highlights the search text in yellow which helps a litte, but trawling seems to be the only way to do it. im just glad that it doesnt search through peoples signatures, otherwise you wouldnt find anything!

getting closer....

there is a button on the search pane (not the search box) that makes it much easier:

"Display results as: Posts or Topics"

Choosing Topics -- the default selection -- will yeild results as seen typically, with an entire topic. But choosing Posts will show the page that has your result. It still requires looking for your hit, but at least you don't have to page through multiple pages to find your hit.

This is what I was saying about the search the last time this topic was brought up - it'd be nice to be able to seach message titles only.

I think it's just easier to find answers that way. I could swear I've seen other phpBB forums with that feature.
