MIDI keyboard mod question. (A33, A70; SP76; VMK176plus)

So, the story is... I used to control my setup from Roland A33 master keyboard. I was quite satisfied with its controller functions, but wish the keyboard action was better. Yesterday I bought a new Studiologic VMK-176plus. It has a fantastic hammer-action keyboard. I've never played anything (76keys) like that before. But... the electronic part of it completely sucks. The pitch joystick is practically unusable (sounds like it has 4-bit resolution instead of 14), the VMK sends ton of aftertouch messages even after all keys has been released, and so on...
I've got an idea of transplanting my new VMK keys to another, more reliable controller. As for my A33, it's too small to house a full-sized hammered keyboard, though it's possible to exchange keys electrical-wise...
As I know, both Roland A70 and Kurzweil SP76 uses Fatar made keyboards, and they are surely electrical compatible.
If anyone here owns one, please email me, I need to know the keyboard base dimensions and couple of other numbers please...
Thanks in advance ;)

I don't think that is normal behaviour, sending aftertouch after all keys are released.
Looks like one of the connections to the 'aftertouch-strip' is loose or something is stuck on that strip, sending data continuously.
That might also fill up the bandwidth so the pitch data has a hard time getting through.

As you just bought it new, I suggest you bring it back to the store you got it from.

As for the key transplantation idea, good luck, but I don't think it's a very sensible approach.

Rgrds,
Tidda
