ive just been playing on my ax73 and its suddenly lost half of its voices or something?

it should be 6 voices in poly-mode, 3 in dual and 1 in solo mode. now its 3 in poly and 2 in dual. its just happened.... i can hear it stealing a note on the second key of dual mode as well. is there anything i can do????? it was fine half an hour ago, and it hasnt been knocked or anything thing. :(

Have you tried turning off the power, pressing down on any socketed chips, and then turning the power back on?

yeah i was thinking that checking the chips are firmly in place would be the way to go, but its come back after a couple of turn off/on's. phew.... i will open it up tomorrow if i get the chance and have a look inside. i'm pretty sure its a CEM based synth, so its one voice per chip.

Yeah my guess is "chip creep". It is a problem caused by thermal expansion and contraction of the entire machine. Over time this movement tends to dislodge socketed components, causing strange problems with no appearent cause. I suppose it could also be a lot of other things going on, but loose IC's get my vote.
