Post by t3hsd » Sun May 20, 2007 10:28 pm

hey all
last week i bought a dx7 through craigslist and it seems to be in perfect shape
today i finally got to play it and all seemed well.
i figured out that the brown function button must lead to the bottom row of functions and it did
now i cant figure out if the operator select is broken because i cant or dont know how to get to the top blue /purple functions
please help!
also, how do you get the sustain to work via foot controls?
just pretend for all intensive purposes that im completely retarded

HI.
Talking from memory (I am not at the studio), you have to select the Blue-purple button at the left of the LCD, then select (for instance) the ALGORITHM button on the numeric pad at right for getting six numbers on the screen. 111111 . They are the operator status. If you press numeric buttons from 1 to 6, you will switch on (1) and off (0) the selected op.

Hope it helps.
Roland Promars, E-mu EMAX and some other machines...

@th3sd
The Operator Select Button is a kind of switch. When you want to edit a Filter for an Operator, the Ratio or other things, you can swap between the Operators with this button. Choose Filter EG, press the button and you will see a number in the Display which counts 1..2..3..4..5..6, this are your Operators you can modifiy then. makes editing operator stuff a lot faster, try it for yourself.
I give up using an ASCII Logo
wich would need a longer text
line :o
