Micron Question
I just got one yesterday. I'm past going through the sounds, and now want to get under the cover. I'm interested in programming the drums. I'm trying to make a new rhythm. I know how to edit the existing rhythms, but the manual doesn't tell you how to map out the preset drum sounds onto a new rhythm to record or step record the mapped out drums. Can someone with expieience with the synth help me.

I think it step seqs through the arppegiator, but the drums come from splitting the keys and using more than one note per step if you can get what I'm saying? I'm not sure much myself though, I've not got into sequencing much on the micron myself, but I remember using its programable arp and that it was capable of multiple notes per step and would go like 16 steps by 4 bars long, I liked that a lot, seemed like the patterns with drums had a split keyboard, drums on the low end synth on high, I could be way off and wrong though, hope someone who knows for sure will come by and help ya out more on it than I.

Post in the "Help" Section. General isn't a section for technical help. Not being rude, but you may be more likely to get help in the appropriate forum.Bryce1888 wrote:Still no answers, please post to help me!
Also, try the Yahoo Ion/Micron Users Group, which I've mentioned several times on here:

even better - read the f**k manual! we are not here solely to help solve problems that can easily be fixed if you quit whining and start working.braincandy wrote:Post in the "Help" Section. or perhaps they are getting tired of helpless impotent teenagers wanting help with things that they should figure out by themselves. its the only way you can learn is by doing the work. the internet culture has bred a bunch of 'gimme gimme gimme' poofs that cant seem to take care of their own problems. if you cant figure out the most basic things about your synth, and are too lazy to actually figure out how to do them on your own, you probably should take up a hobby more suited for you, like hanging out in wal mart parking lot or posting videos of your friends jumping through fences on youtube.Tyler2000 wrote:Is it just me or are the mods getting really rude lately?

@ ridethefader...
It would seem that you've decided to use a photo of another member here as your avater. The fact that you've done this after you had a somewhat heated discussion with this member in O/T would easily lead one to the conclusion that this is being done as a rather childish form of playground humor. If this is the case, it says quite a lot about you, and I'd advise you to change it.
We had a similar situation here some time ago, and it didn't end well.

As always, kindly allow for the possibility I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Perhaps you are confusing 'rude' with 'direct', Tyler.
I'm in agreement with Tallow - far too many people expect answers to be spoon-fed to them. Answers that can be found with minimal effort.
Case in point - me. Shortly after joining VSE, I asked a daft question about MIDI controlling one synth with another. If I'd had my brain in gear, I could quickly have found out the answer for myself, but I took the 'easy' option and asked here. I was pulled by one of the older members and although I felt I'd done nothing wrong at the time - in hindsight, he was absolutely right. Why was taking up someone else's time more important using some of my own? I hadn't thoroughly read the manual at the time, hadn't even tried a Google search.
Finding things out for yourself is a million times more satisfying than being told.
And if anyone has a problem with a moderator, they'll get far more respect by sending them a PM. And by sending a PM, I mean to the moderator with whom they have a problem with, not to any of the other mods with whom they think they'll have more 'luck'.
Oh, and Ridethefader - Stillearning has just given you some very wise advice. I suggest that you take it and change your avatar, please.
